Arlene Robbins

About The Artist

As a passionate artist, Ms. Robbins watercolor paintings celebrate the beauty she finds in the world. Residing in
New York City, she works in the tradition of the great British watercolorists and has studied at
the National Academy School of Design and Art Students League of New York.

Her incredible sky configurations are achieved by a process of layering wet on wet washes of pigment. Working from light to dark, she builds depth and dimension in each composition. Her careful use of complimentary colors create a vibrant, luminous glow.

Her ability to capture the beauty of the world in her paintings is unparalleled. Her watercolors and graphite drawings are included in private and public collections. Her artistic vision includes landscape, architecture, and animals, as well as occasional portrait. She welcomes commissions and teaches private and group lessons.

Among her many awards, she has received the prestigious Red Dot Award for the Art Students of New York, the Cynthia Shipp Goodgal Memorial Award and was selected as “Woman of Vision in the Arts” by the Environmental Protection Agency.
